Artificial skylight above a windowless residential corridor

RESIDENTIAL

Assisted and Accessible Living

Everyone deserves access to sunshine, especially our elderly.

The people who spend the most time indoors get the least daylight, and they are the people who need it most. That is true of anyone ageing at home, and of anyone who cannot easily go outside.

Daylight is how the body knows what time it is. Without it, sleep, mood and appetite all drift, which is why limited sunlight is associated with insomnia, low mood and depression. Older eyes also admit progressively less light while becoming less tolerant of glare, so the answer is not simply brighter. It is softer, and from above. A room that changes through the day gives back a sense of morning and evening that a windowless space removes entirely.

Why it works here

Health and mood

Regular exposure to daylight helps regulate sleep, lifts mood and supports mental wellbeing.

A connection to nature

We are outdoor beings who live indoors. Our eyes want to see sky, and a room that gives them one feels different to be in.

A more spacious feel

Light draws the eye upward, so compact rooms and low ceilings feel considerably larger and more open.

Circadian rhythm

The colour and brightness shift every 6 seconds to follow the real sun at your location.

A clear sense of day and night

In a room with no window there is no time signal at all. A tuned sky gives one back.

Sunlight when you want it

It can mirror the actual time of day, or you can simply turn it on at night. A light and a skylight in one.

Very realistic

So realistic that the only way your friends find out they are not real is if you tell them.

True colour

Ra98 colour rendering across the full spectrum, so skin, food, timber and stone all look the way they should.

Very low glare

A bigger problem for older eyes than low light is, and the reason a soft overhead source works so well.

Risk free installation

No roof penetrations, no risk of water ingress and no roof access required.

Fast installation

No waiting on multiple trades or good weather. Most installations need only an electrician.

Light control

Run it from our touch panel, the app, or your own DALI controls.

Fits almost any ceiling

Suspended, surface mounted or recessed, needing 200mm of cavity and as little as 150mm for the 1500 x 300mm.

5 year warranty and support

On every panel, with our team alongside your electrician from layout through to commissioning.
