Hospitality sells an experience, and light is most of it. A room can be beautifully finished and still feel wrong if the light is telling people the wrong thing.
A function room used for a morning conference and an evening wedding has to be two different rooms, and daylight is what makes the first one work. Guests sitting through a full day event in a windowless ballroom feel it by mid afternoon. In guest rooms daylight supports sleep for people already out of rhythm from travelling. And on a venue or gaming floor, a sense of time is increasingly something operators are expected to provide rather than remove.
